Connect Google or Outlook

Keep Bitrack and your own Google or Outlook calendar in step, and see when teammates are busy.

Connect your own Google Calendar or Outlook calendar to Bitrack. Your Bitrack events go to your calendar, and your own events show in Bitrack, so you can plan around both in one place.

What connecting does

  • Bitrack events you’re in go to a separate “Bitrack” calendar in your Google or Outlook account, kept up to date. Changes made there don’t come back to Bitrack.
  • Your own events from the next two months show in your Bitrack calendar, in the My Google / Outlook layer. Only you see what they are.
  • Teammates only see that you’re busy. When someone invites you to a Bitrack event at a time you already have something, they see Busy next to your name, never what it is.
  • Your other events are safe. Bitrack never changes or deletes them. Disconnecting removes the Bitrack calendar and everything Bitrack read.

Connect your calendar

  1. Open your picture at the top right and choose My Account.
  2. Choose Calendars.
  3. Next to Google Calendar or Outlook / Microsoft 365, choose Connect.
  4. Sign in to your account and allow access.

You come back to Calendars with the message that your calendar is connected. Your events will appear there in a minute. The card shows Connected, the account’s email and when it last synced.

Google Calendar works with Gmail and Google Workspace. Outlook works with a work, school or personal Microsoft account.

Keeping in sync

Bitrack syncs on its own. Changes on the Google or Outlook side usually show up in Bitrack within about 10 minutes.

To sync straight away, choose Sync now on the card. You see Syncing. It takes a minute.

Needs reconnecting

If Bitrack loses access, for example because you changed your password or withdrew access in your Google or Microsoft account, the card shows Needs reconnecting in red and explains that it stopped syncing.

Choose Reconnect and sign in again to pick up where you left off.

Disconnect

  1. Go to My Account → Calendars.
  2. Choose Disconnect on the card.
  3. Confirm with Disconnect.

Bitrack removes its “Bitrack” calendar from your account and stops reading your events. Your other events aren’t touched.

Turn connections on or off

Owners and Admins control whether people can connect calendars:

  1. Go to Settings → Calendar.
  2. Use the switch People can connect their Google or Outlook calendar.

The panel also shows how many people have connected a calendar. Turning connections off disconnects everyone and removes their Bitrack calendars in the background. When connections are off, Calendars doesn’t appear in My Account. If you can’t find it, ask an Owner or Admin.
